“Lionel Pessi” meme: meaning, origin and common card

What does the “Lionel Pessi” meme mean?

The meme thrives on nonsense: a sentence that sounds like a poetic tongue-twister yet means nothing, credited to a fake “Pessi” whose name evokes a global star. People use it to answer a question with total seriousness and zero logic, to parody a pompous speech, or to mock a nobody who thinks he is a legend. The comedy comes from the contrast between the prestige of the borrowed name and the string of absurd animal verbs.

Where does the “Lionel Pessi” meme come from?

The line quoted on the card reads: “Zinzinule sans mystère afin de miauler avec succès sans pour autant couiner puis roucoule doucement...”, signed “Lionel Pessi akhi”. The pun on Lionel Messi’s name works as the comic signature, while “akhi”, an Arabic word for “my brother” that has settled into French slang, adds a familiar tone. The text strings together verbs that mimic animal sounds, so it reads like a magic formula or a bizarre seduction tip.
