Where does the “Das ist ja komisch” meme come from?
"Das ist ja komisch" is a common German expression of mock surprise, reused in online video content to comment on scenes where something is clearly off: a coincidence too perfect, an excuse that doesn't add up, or an improbable chain of events. The calm, almost detached tone used despite the absurdity of the situation described is what let the phrase become a reusable caption, detached from its original context to apply to any similar scene spotted elsewhere online.
