Where does the “Fascists on Mars” meme come from?
The work began in 2002 as sketches in the programme Il caso Scafroglia on Rai 3, before becoming a medium-length film and then a feature released in 2006, directed by Corrado Guzzanti and Igor Skofic. It is a satirical alternate history that imitates Istituto Luce newsreels: in 1938, four blackshirts led by the Fascist official Gaetano Maria Barbagli leave in a German rocket to conquer Mars. There they subdue supposedly sentient creatures, which are really rocks, and then mutiny.

- 2006The feature film directed by Corrado Guzzanti and Igor Skofic is released.
