Where does the “It’s Coming Rome” meme come from?

“It’s coming home” comes from Three Lions (1996), a song by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner set to music by the Lightning Seeds for Euro 1996. Before the Euro 2020 final, the British media and many people, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson, used the line in the hope the trophy would go to England. The final was played at Wembley on 11 July 2021: 1-1 after extra time, then Italy won 3-2 on penalties. Leonardo Bonucci equalised in the 67th minute after Shaw’s goal in the second, and he was named man of the match. Many then turned the phrase into “It’s coming Rome”.
