People say "Soffi teir" to mock a badly mispronounced English word, especially when someone speaks with confidence that doesn't match their actual English. The phrase also nods more broadly to the humor of amateur or bad-movie reviews popularized by Yotobi. Fans bring it up to imitate the mocking tone of his video.
Where does the “Soffi Teir” meme come from?
Karim Musa, born August 4, 1988 in Monopoli and raised in Turin from age three, launched his YouTube channel Yotobi in October 2006, first with comedy sketches and gaming before moving to humorous reviews of low-budget films. On February 10, 2012, his 52nd review tackled the amateur film "Soft Air"; by picking up and exaggerating the "soffi teir" pronunciation heard in the film, Yotobi turned it into the running gag of the whole video. The review became his channel's first to pass one million views, before later being taken down from YouTube over copyright issues.
