In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Kama Pulya” is a rare card of the Russian Memes pack, number 23 of the collection, and the 40th best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Kama Pulya” meme mean?
Quoting Kama Pulya is a friendly jab at confidence that has nothing to do with reality: a life lesson thrown down like a verdict, a martial pose, the tone of a guru. People bring him up when a friend hands out very personal advice about love, money or lifting weights that nobody requested. The humour sits in the gap between the solemn manner and the tiny size of the lesson.
Where does the “Kama Pulya” meme come from?
Kama Pulya is a character from online videos whose fame took off in 2014 on the Runet, the Russian-speaking internet. He appears as a colourful figure who strikes combat poses and gives out life sentences in a handful of words. Viewers reposted his clips as edits, replies and imitations until his name turned into a type: the one who preaches with certainty.
