The phrase was born in 2001 on the Runet, within forums dedicated to amateur video game development, where a user described a dream game by listing vague, grandiose features, including the ability to “rob the corovans,” a misspelling of the Russian word “караваны” (caravans). The uncorrected typo turned the line into the perfect example of a naive game pitch: a promise that sounds good but rests on no real design thinking.
