In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Yaaaaz!” is a rare card of the Russian Memes pack, number 137 of the collection, and the 40th best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Yaaaaz!” meme mean?
The meme gently mocks an enthusiasm that wildly outsizes what's actually at stake. The fisherman screams his fish's name as if he'd just landed a trophy, even though the catch looks completely unremarkable to everyone watching. It gets used to comment on any triumphant reaction to a modest achievement, matched with the same over-the-top energy as the original scream.
Where does the “Yaaaaz!” meme come from?
The meme dates back to 2011 and belongs to the Runet, the Russian-language internet, where a fishing video shows a man screaming “Ииииз!” (“an iiiide!”) as he pulls an ide fish (язь in Russian) out of the water, visibly overjoyed. The card tags it as Runet format for the year 2011; beyond that viral scene, no specific channel or source could be confirmed as the exact origin despite searching. The gap between the scream's intensity and how unremarkable the catch looks turned the clip into a go-to reference for any enthusiasm that seems wildly out of proportion.
How to use the “Yaaaaz!” meme
