In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Poupoupou” is a common card of the Russian Memes pack, number 172 of the collection, and the 132nd best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Poupoupou” meme mean?
The meme conveys weary reflection, quiet surprise, or resigned acceptance of yet another minor setback, when no exact word captures the feeling. “Poupoupou” fills that gap, somewhat like a vocalized sigh: not quite a complaint, not quite a joke, more a remark left hanging in the air.
Where does the “Poupoupou” meme come from?
Poupoupou has circulated on the Runet since 2021, tagged by the card as a Runet-format meme for that year. The sound itself, repeated and deliberately absurd, is enough on its own to convey an emotion without relying on precise words, which made it a ready-made comment under videos or images where the situation deserves neither anger nor real joy. No specific video or channel could be confirmed as the exact starting point beyond this 2021 Runet framing.
