In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Blyazdets” is a rare card of the Russian Memes pack, number 193 of the collection, and the 40th best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Blyazdets” meme mean?
The word is not in any dictionary: it fuses three Russian swear words, illustrated with three kittens to soften the blow. People pull it out when frustration tops everything, after a blunder, a breakdown or a bad surprise. Cute little cats clash with the word’s energy, and that clash is the joke.
Where does the “Blyazdets” meme come from?
The meme dates from 2020 and comes from the Runet. It is an edit: three kitten photos, each tied to one of the three Russian curse words, then the portmanteau that combines them. The unpronounceable result was reused in captions and comments to signal theatrical anger. The appeal lies in the build-up first, the tenderness of the animals second. Users turned it into a ready-made reply for all the small disasters of daily life.
