Where does the “Ouya” meme come from?
The Ouya console, designed by Julie Uhrman, was massively funded on Kickstarter in July 2012 with over $8.5 million. Presented as an open gaming revolution, it faced major issues after its 2013 release. Razer’s acquisition and service shutdown in 2019 sealed its status as a failure. The meme arises from this downward trajectory, turning technological hope into a lasting object of ridicule without a specific visual origin documented.
