What does the “Pierre? Present!” meme mean?
The line takes the school roll call and turns it into a childlike game: a name is called, the person answers “présent”, and the long rolled “rrr” gives it a caveman feel. Rrrrrrr!!! is a prehistoric comedy directed by Alain Chabat, released in France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland on 28 January 2004. Two neighbouring Stone Age tribes clash, one of them holding a shampoo formula. Clips posted on YouTube, including roll-call, introduction and phone scenes, turned many lines into everyday quotes, among them “Pierre? Présent!” with the rolled “rrr” as opener.
