What does the “There She Is!!” meme mean?
The meme symbolizes barriers standing in the way of true love. It expresses frustration or hope regarding a relationship judged unacceptable by family or society. It is used to illustrate a couple facing major differences perceived as incompatible by others.
Where does the “There She Is!!” meme come from?
The series was created by the South Korean studio SamBakZa, consisting of three people. The first episode, titled "Step one: There She Is!!", was released on April 20, 2003, on their website. The story features Doki, a bunny, and Nabi, a cat, whose mutual attraction defies established norms. The video contains no dialogue; it uses only the Korean ska song "There She Is!!" by the group Witches as the soundtrack. This lack of lyrics makes the origin of the spoken phrase ambiguous. The series gained international popularity after being uploaded to Newgrounds in 2004, although the exact date remains uncertain. Positive reactions and fan art encouraged the production of new episodes.
