The user aims to saturate the screen, turning a simple message into a visual obstacle. It shows mild contempt for netiquette rules, prioritizing immediate annoyance over serious content.
Where does the “Vertical Posting” meme come from?
The exact origin of this practice remains unknown to web historians. A Reddit discussion from November 4, 2015, already associates it with 4chan, specifically on /b/ with 'WEW LAD' and /fit/ with 'LONDON'. Some suggest an unproven link to excessive fan theories about *Breaking Bad*, but no video source confirms this. The initial platform is unidentified, though 4chan is the earliest explicit mention. It likely evolved organically from imageboard shitposting culture.
