In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Asterion au lac d'Annecy” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 1065 of the collection, and the 933rd best-known meme of its 976 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Asterion au lac d'Annecy” meme mean?
The meme laughs at the failed souvenir photo: gorgeous scenery, motionless subject, arms hanging straight down, framing that saves nothing. People post it about their own holidays, in reply to somebody announcing a dream trip, or alongside a pose they know is awkward. The joke is not aimed at the place, which stays the expected postcard, but at the gap between the landscape and the attitude of the person planted in front of it.
Where does the “Asterion au lac d'Annecy” meme come from?
The image went out on 30 August 2026 on the TikTok account @locogeranium, in a vertical format showing the subject full-length in front of Lake Annecy. The video plays on the stiffness of the pose against the beauty of the setting, and that contrast is the first thing the comments picked up. The clip was then taken as a template: other accounts replay the same pose in front of other lakes, which moved the picture from holiday snapshot to format. No article and no archive page documents the sequence, and the name “Asterion” is known only from the video itself and from what the comments say about it. What is gathered here is limited to what the post shows.
