In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Kevin je t'aime” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 1071 of the collection, and the 968th best-known meme of its 976 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Kevin je t'aime” meme mean?
The line is for declaring something head-on, ridiculousness included. People use it to own up to a slightly embarrassing enthusiasm, to comment on an awkward public declaration, or to laugh at themselves as they finally say what they have been holding in for months. The meme is not aimed at the people filmed but at the format: a video message addressed to one person and watched by thousands, its courage and its awkwardness both intact.
Where does the “Kevin je t'aime” meme come from?
The video was posted on 23 January 2023 on a local-humour Facebook page, as part of a series of messages filmed at participants’ homes and presented as village declarations. The shot is static, the framing tight, and the message is delivered in one take, with no editing. The clip then circulated recropped, often as a still image with the sentence attached, which cut the declaration loose from its original context. The people filmed are private individuals, visibly very young, and no source identifies them — nor should any: this article keeps to what the post shows, a declaration said to camera in a bedroom. The page it was published on remains the only available source.
