What does the “C'est mardi, c'est bientôt le week-end” meme mean?
The card rests on a lie everyone recognises: Tuesday is not "nearly the weekend", and the cheerful delivery knows it. People post it as backwards encouragement, announcing the end of the week at the moment it is furthest away. It belongs to the short clips whose use is pinned to the calendar: it only makes sense one day in seven.
Where does the “C'est mardi, c'est bientôt le week-end” meme come from?
The video was uploaded on 8 February 2022 by the YouTube channel Dat Toffer, titled "Ça y est c'est mardi, c'est bientôt le week end !", running five seconds and holding roughly 220,800 views. It is the only source the searches consulted attach to the phrase: no earlier version, no broadcast excerpt, no other author. The format works because of its brevity, which makes it a reply as much as a video, and because of its midwinter upload date, when a joke about waiting for the weekend bites hardest.
