In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Ouais, c'est Michel” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 870 of the collection, and the 713th best-known meme of its 869 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Ouais, c'est Michel” meme mean?
The card is about the affectionate grudge: the caller wants nothing except to point out that nobody called back. Spelling the name out, letter by letter, stretches the opening of the message and sets up the turn, where the tone drops from clerical to wounded. People play it on a friend who vanished three weeks ago, or on themselves when getting back in touch with a sheepish smile.
Where does the “Ouais, c'est Michel” meme come from?
The bit circulates on YouTube in a video titled "Ouais, c'est Michel, tu donnes pas de nouvelles on peut pas te faire confiance", with close to 494,000 views, which is the most reposted version of the sequence. The available sources attach the character to Eliott Doyle, a comedian who appeared on season 13 of the Jamel Comedy Club according to the title of a stand-up video uploaded in 2024; the sketch video itself carries no credit. The line then came loose from its author: there are edits replaying it across hundreds of video-game matches, a sign that it has become a formula rather than a clip.
