In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “The Kiss of Flames” is a rare card of the Cancel & Dramas pack, number 95 of the collection, and the 20th best-known meme of its 117 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “The Kiss of Flames” meme mean?
The meme mostly captures the discomfort of a gesture imposed in public, filmed and replayed across social media: a kiss framed as spontaneous but read by many commenters as crossing a line of consent. It points to a moment when a televised stunt goes wrong in front of everyone, and the visible unease of the person involved speaks louder than the footage itself. The card recalls how a few seconds caught live can turn into a lasting controversy.
Where does the “The Kiss of Flames” meme come from?
Anyme023, real name Maxence Turlot, is a French video creator, singer, rapper and streamer born in 2003. In May 2025, during the Flammes ceremony, which honours artists from the French urban music scene, he was kissed by force live on stage, in front of the audience and the night's cameras. The clip spread widely and was picked apart on social media, where many users described the gesture as a non-consensual kiss rather than a playful moment. The episode reopened a wider conversation about consent during televised ceremonies, where live gestures are sometimes staged as entertainment without the person involved genuinely agreeing to them.
