What does the “The Tipeee Bad Buzz” meme mean?
The meme captures the moment when a science-education creator's stake in a company turns against him, because the platform he financially supports chooses to keep accounts seen as hateful. It describes a public contradiction between a creator's image and the decisions of a business tied to him, severe enough to push him to pause his own channel rather than keep going under pressure.
Where does the “The Tipeee Bad Buzz” meme come from?
e-penser, real name Bruce Benamran, is a French video creator known for his science-education videos. In 2021, he was a shareholder in Tipeee, a crowdfunding platform for creators, when it came under criticism for keeping creators accused of hateful remarks among its users. Because he was tied to the company, e-penser himself became a target of the backlash, with critics pointing to his link to a platform that had not removed those accounts. Under the pressure, he chose to put his channel on hold, a decision widely read as the direct consequence of the affair rather than a simple personal choice.
