The line is used to defend, with a straight face, a piece of work that looks like nothing, or to claim something is obvious when it clearly is not. The joke is the cheerful bad faith: Squeezie never doubts himself, even though nobody would recognize the actor. Fans quote it when showing off a failed drawing, a blurry photo or a kitchen disaster while insisting the result speaks for itself.
Where does the “Squeezie Will Smith drawing” meme come from?
Squeezie, real name Lucas Hauchard, is one of France's most followed YouTubers and streamers, born in Vitry-sur-Seine. Drawing is a regular theme on his channel: in February 2015 he posted “DESSINONS DES STARS !” (“Let's draw stars!”), sketching celebrities by hand, followed by other art-themed videos such as “J'apprends à dessiner et j'y arrive vite fait”. In that spirit he presents a portrait as Will Smith with disarming certainty, and fan clips isolated the line as shorthand for any unconvincing likeness.
