Where does the “Dezzing” meme come from?
The phenomenon originated on February 24, 2013, in Miami, when Desmond Bryant, then a defensive lineman for the Oakland Raiders, was arrested for criminal mischief after a drunken disturbance at a neighbor's house. The official booking photo showed him shirtless, head thrown back, eyes half-closed, and tongue out, creating an instantly recognizable and ridiculous image. While the exact date of its initial viral spread is unknown, American host Jimmy Kimmel played a pivotal role in its popularity.
