In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Hehe boi” is a rare card of the Memes World series 70, number 20771 of the collection, and the 10th best-known meme of its 18 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Hehe boi” meme mean?
The meme is the culprit’s pride. You post it after doing exactly what you were told not to do, and you own it: a message sent on purpose, a reply pitched a little too sharp, a successful bit of nonsense. Everything hangs on the look to camera, that direct complicity with whoever is watching, as if Harriott were calling the viewer as a witness. The laugh is short, almost stifled, and that restraint is what makes it reusable: it does not comment on the prank, it claims it.
Where does the “Hehe boi” meme come from?
Ainsley Harriott is a British chef and television presenter, known for cookery shows on English television where his to-camera enthusiasm became a trademark. The meme comes from a clip of those sequences, isolated and then uploaded to YouTube in October 2017 under the title “Ainsley Harriot - He he boy! Meme”: a few seconds in which the chef, hat on, lets out his chuckle while turning to the lens. Detached from the recipe he was presenting, the shot became a reaction template, cut in at the end of edits to sign a prank. The spelling “hehe boi” took hold online to the point of naming the meme, and you will find it written several ways.
