In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Okak cat” is an epic card of the Russian Memes pack, number 125 of the collection, and the 13th best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Okak cat” meme mean?
The meme shows resignation or surprise played with no drama at all, the exact opposite of a theatrical reaction. People use it to comment, in a detached tone, on absurd news, a minor injustice, or an obvious fact they accept without being surprised, as if they already expected it. The cat’s blank face under its hoodie strengthens the comic effect: the gap between how big the commented situation is and how flat the word “okak” sounds gives the meme its dry, slightly sarcastic edge.
Where does the “Okak cat” meme come from?
The “окак” meme was born on TikTok in 2025, around a short clip showing a black cat in a grey hoodie filmed reacting to something off-screen with a simple “ок, как” (“ok, how”), shortened into “okak”. The flat, almost robotic tone of the reaction contrasts with whatever situation is being commented on, which drove the clip’s popularity among Russian-speaking users. The original video was widely re-shared, cut up, and dubbed over other content, with “okak” becoming an all-purpose caption for shrugging off any piece of news.
