What does the “Call the Cops” meme mean?
The phrase jokingly threatens to alert the authorities, or comments on a situation going off the rails. Used with exaggeration, it reacts to a blunder, a suspicious noise or a game quarrel. The word “hendek,” a slang twist on the term for police officers, gives the line a street flavor. It comes out when people want to dramatize something harmless.
Where does the “Call the Cops” meme come from?
Yepco is a French-speaking streamer and creator on Twitch and YouTube. According to the card, he calls the “hendeks,” meaning the police, during a live stream. The expression then spread beyond that broadcast: on YouTube, several videos carry the title “Appelez les hendeks” or “On appelle les Hendek,” including freestyles, remixes and excerpts reposted by other channels. The line became a staple of French-language internet humor.
