In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Papayou” is a rare card of the Permanent Edition French Twitch Memes Season 1, number 13 of the collection, and the 2nd best-known meme of its 78 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Papayou” meme mean?
The meme conveys the collective joy of an absurd, festive moment. A streamer staging himself as a colourful variety singer among paper flowers turns a charity broadcast into a party. People post “Papayou” to kick off a mood, sing along for no reason or salute a performance carried to the point of ridiculousness. The catchy chorus explains its staying power: typing the word is enough for chat to answer in song.
Where does the “Papayou” meme come from?
ZEvent is a charity streaming event, with its fundraiser relayed on zevent.fr. During the live of 5 September 2026, MisterMV, a French streamer, appeared in a yellow jacket and paper flowers, playing Carlos, to perform “Papayou”, a track tied to that singer. Several clip channels posted the scene, sometimes billing it as a legendary performance. The audience carried it into chat, edits and audio loops. The simple, sticky chorus then spread far beyond the original broadcast.
