In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Pas mal les bzez” is a mythic card of the Permanent Edition French Twitch Memes Season 1, number 71 of the collection, and the 5th best-known meme of its 78 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Pas mal les bzez” meme mean?
The meme revolves around a clumsily inappropriate compliment, dropped out of nowhere and read at face value. “Bzez” is casual French slang for a woman’s chest. The humour comes from the gap between the streamer’s awkward reaction and the offhand tone of the message. People quote it to mock a tactless remark or an off-topic comment, or to describe an embarrassing situation with a wink.
Where does the “Pas mal les bzez” meme come from?
In November 2021, during a Twitch stream, Loupiote read aloud a chat message from a viewer: “pas mal les bzez”. The moment was clipped and shared, and the phrase took hold. Reaction videos, one titled “Comment ça pas mal les bzez?”, amplified it, until other clip titles borrowed the formula. It then moved from the original clip to comments, edits and sounds, and every time a chat posts an off-topic remark, people come back to it.
