In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “"Ravuuus!"” is a common card of the Permanent Edition French Twitch Memes Season 1, number 5 of the collection, and the 63rd best-known meme of its 78 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “"Ravuuus!"” meme mean?
Dragging a name out is the classic move of a group of friends hailing someone while laughing. Here the “u” goes on until the air runs out, which makes the call affectionate, theatrical and slightly mocking at once. People use it to welcome the streamer, to tease him after a blunder, or to start a chorus in the chat. In writing it is recognisable by its repeated letters: the more u’s, the bigger the enthusiasm, or the pretend exasperation. Tone does all the work, and that tone is always playful.
Where does the “"Ravuuus!"” meme come from?
The card places the expression in 2024: the streamer’s friends and his chat stretch his first name out as far as one breath allows. The scene circulates as GIFs filed under the label “Ravus énervé”. The trick itself is nothing new, since lengthening a name to shout it is a reflex of any group of friends, but it found its own form here through live-stream clips. In writing, the shout is recognisable by the cascade of u’s that extends the name, as if the voice never stopped. The whole thing stays a wink between friends, with no stake beyond the shared laugh around the streamer.
