In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Chef Michel Dumas” is an epic card of the Memes FR pack, number 2291 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3496 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Chef Michel Dumas” meme mean?
Mentioning Chef Michel Dumas summons relaxed, hearty cooking that reassures rather than impresses. The meme plays on the contrast between a chef’s seriousness and an easygoing guy’s manner. People use it to comment on a successful recipe, a generous plate, or to tease someone who wields a spatula like a sword. “Tourne et retourne” goes with repeated kitchen gestures, and “legend of the stoves” honors the personality more than the technique.
Where does the “Chef Michel Dumas” meme come from?
Michel Dumas appears on YouTube on the channel “Chef Michel Dumas et Jean-Pierre Dumas”, where he presents recipes such as chicken chasseur, hearty omelettes, mac and cheese or roquefort steak, with a site for written recipes and a shop for knives and aprons. He is called the legend of the stoves, tied to “the 18-25” and to the line “Tourne et retourne!”. Internet users picked out those phrases and reused them in edits and comments. Somewhere between cooking lessons and warm personality, the chef became a humorous figure of online cooking.
