What does the “Domingo and Jiraya, horror games” meme mean?
The meme feels like a night with friends watching a scary movie: screams, nervous laughter, bravado collapsing at the first jump scare. It stands for shared fear, very relative courage, and the fun of watching others flinch on your behalf. Use it when someone panics at a game, when a group hides under a blanket during a film, or to announce a horror night where nobody is really feeling brave.
Where does the “Domingo and Jiraya, horror games” meme come from?
The Z Event is an annual charity marathon of French-speaking streamers on Twitch, created by ZeratoR and Dach. Its first edition ran from 4 to 6 March 2016 for Save the Children. Over the editions, a horror-game evening brings Domingo and Jiraya together, playing live and facing the scariest titles. Replays carry names like “Laissez Jiraya tranquille!” for the Z Event 2021 horror live on Summer of ’58, or a horror live with “Jiji” in 2022. One streamer’s sincere fear, the other’s teasing and the gala atmosphere made it a much-awaited date and a steady source of clips.
