In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Wingardium Leviosaaaa” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 4348 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3511 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Wingardium Leviosaaaa” meme mean?
People throw out the phrase to pretend to lift an object, make a friend fly or play wizard. The stretched “a” sounds imitate a spellcaster proud of his effect, turning an ordinary gesture into a ridiculous magic trick. It also answers someone dropping something, or comments on a scene where something floats.
Where does the “Wingardium Leviosaaaa” meme come from?
The Wingardium Leviosa spell comes from the Harry Potter universe, where it makes an object levitate. The meme rests on its shouted, stretched pronunciation. A video from the channel Oney Cartoons, titled “Wingardium Leviosa”, parodies those scenes and helped spread the exaggerated version of the spell in France. Card number 4348 ranks it among the game’s rare cards. The exact origin of the lengthened vowels mostly comes down to web humour, since users love to inflate a universally known formula to absurdity.
