In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “ALLEY !” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 825 of the collection, and the 858th best-known meme of its 869 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “ALLEY !” meme mean?
It is the digital equivalent of a shove between the shoulders. Send it to the friend who takes twenty minutes to answer, into a group chat that fell asleep overnight, or right before starting a game while everyone is still idling in the menu. The spelling is phonetic French, not a word: it writes down a shout the way it sounds, and the very short loop makes it all the more insistent.
Where does the “ALLEY !” meme come from?
The origin of the shot is not established. The oldest datable trace is the GIF’s upload to Tenor on 19 February 2023 by a platform user: 498 pixels wide, a loop under one second, described as a bearded man shouting the word. The keywords on that page put forward the names of French comedian Thomas VDB and of the sketch collective Suricate, but no source confirms the attribution, and the collective’s documented work does not involve that comedian. Tags on a GIF platform are user-declared: they can point a search in a direction, they do not amount to attribution. So the card records what can be checked — a reaction that outlived the loss of its context, as sub-second loops often do.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the “ALLEY!” GIF come from?
Nobody knows. No source ties the shot to a specific film or sketch; the oldest datable trace is a Tenor upload on 19 February 2023, presumably well after the footage was filmed.
Who is shouting?
The keywords on the Tenor page name comedian Thomas VDB and the Suricate collective, but those are tags added by a user. Nothing independent backs them up.
Why is it spelled “alley” and not “allez”?
Because the spelling is phonetic: it notes a shout rather than the French verb. That is also what separates the reaction from a plainly written “allez”.
How do you use the card?
As a nudge: a message that says nothing except that you are waiting. The sub-second loop does the work, so there is nothing to add.
How do I get the ALLEY ! meme card?
