In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “lol m'a tout pris” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 827 of the collection, and the 735th best-known meme of its 869 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “lol m'a tout pris” meme mean?
The card is for a passion that costs more than it pays. Use it after an evening of losses, under a total playtime figure you would rather not have seen, or when someone asks why you are in a foul mood on a Sunday night. It travels outside gaming just as well: a job, a show or a relationship can take everything in exactly the same way. The tone stays wry rather than self-pitying.
Where does the “lol m'a tout pris” meme come from?
Kamel Kebir, known as Kameto, is a former professional player turned Twitch streamer and co-founder of the French esports organisation Karmine Corp. In spring 2020 he set himself a “Road to Master” climb on League of Legends. On 3 May 2020, straight out of a ranked session, he summed up his state in four words on Twitter; the gaming site Dexerto wrote it up the next day, and the French outlet Actustream quoted the longer version, in which the game had drained his soul. Fellow streamer Sardoche replied to the post that same day, which is why the line is sometimes credited to him by mistake. Music remixes, stream sound alerts and best-of clips carried it far past the broadcast it came from.
