Where does the “This Note Is Real” meme come from?
On August 20, 2018, a 5-year-old boy from Bocaina, in the state of São Paulo, wrote in a child’s handwriting that the “senhores paes” (parents) would have no class the next day because it “could be a holiday”. He signed it “tia Paulinha”, his teacher’s name, and closed with “é verdade esse bilete”. His mother showed the note to the teacher, who posted it on Facebook on August 21. The press picked it up from August 23, and the mother answered the criticism by saying he was just a child and had been scolded.
