Where does the “Impossible Facebook Events” meme come from?
The trend took off in Brazil in 2014, when Facebook users began creating events with ironic titles and distant dates, far from any real commitment. One of the earliest examples documented by the Museu de Memes was the farewell party for President Dilma Rousseff, set for election day. Titles began with an event category such as round table, protest, meeting or party, followed by an absurd name. The events parodied politicians' statements, song lyrics, 1990s TV shows, commercials and other memes.
