Where does the “Dinofauro” meme come from?
The Brazilian Dinofauro was launched in May 2015 by André Crevilaro and three friends, based on a foreign profile that was already around online. The group invented an official language for the character, a blue tyrannosaur with no lower jaw, and that way of talking made it popular. The Facebook page came close to 100,000 likes in under a week. Brands such as Habib's and Águia Piscinas, and even the Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica, posted messages in that language. A rival page, “Dinofauvo Fanho”, showed up afterward, with an orange dinosaur.
