In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Will Smith Spaghetti AI” is a common card of the Memes World series 76, number 22623 of the collection, and the 91st best-known meme of its 298 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Will Smith Spaghetti AI” meme mean?
The meme works on two levels: laughter at a grotesque result, and a quiet measure of progress. People post it when an AI tool botches a request, but also to compare “then” and “now”. Every time a new video model launches, someone asks whether it can finally handle the spaghetti test. A glitchy clip gets called worse than 2023 Will Smith, while a polished one is said to have passed the exam. It gives a general audience a shared reference for talking about a fast-moving technology without any jargon, built on a picture everybody gets at once.
Where does the “Will Smith Spaghetti AI” meme come from?
On March 27, 2023, Reddit user chaindrop shared a short clip titled “Will Smith eating spaghetti” in the Stable Diffusion community. It was made with ModelScope, a text-to-video tool. The output is deliberately raw: the actor’s face keeps shifting, his chewing looks mechanical, and the food seems almost alive. The video spread quickly across social platforms and inspired parodies and recreations. In February 2024, Will Smith posted his own live-action take on Instagram with the caption “This is getting out of hand!”. The test then came back with every major model release. In May 2025, a version made with Google’s Veo 3 showed a steadier face, smoother motion and synchronized sound, and in February 2026 the press reported that Seedance 2.0 had passed the challenge.
