What does the “Moi je suis prêt pour jouer avec ouvoumeyang” meme mean?
The meme says you are volunteering for something you barely handle. People bring it out when accepting a job while getting the name of the tool, the client or the colleague wrong: the willingness is total, the pronunciation is not. It targets the mistake rather than the person, which keeps it affectionate, since whoever mangles a name is at least trying. Among supporters it also works as a harsher reminder for a signing who talked more than he played.
Where does the “Moi je suis prêt pour jouer avec ouvoumeyang” meme come from?
Vitinha is a Portuguese striker signed by Olympique de Marseille, where he played alongside the Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Asked about his new teammate, he answered that he was ready to play with him while pronouncing the name askew, which is what made the clip travel: the sentence is replayed for the pronunciation rather than the content. The exact clip of that pronunciation could not be found among the public sources consulted, and the card’s picture comes from another press conference by the player, published by La Provence in August 2023. The phrase itself keeps circulating as a quotation, carried by supporters.
