What does the “Sense Márcia” meme mean?
The meme celebrates Márcia's almost brutal honesty: she answers callers without softening anything, sometimes scolding them mid-prediction, which lands as comedy once it's out of context. Quoting a “Sense Márcia” line is a way to give advice or an uncomfortable truth in an exaggerated, comic way, as if a TV psychic were speaking without a filter.
Where does the “Sense Márcia” meme come from?
Márcia Fernandes is a Brazilian psychic, medium and astrologer. She gained national attention debuting on TV in 2001 with a segment on SBT's “Programa Livre,” then kept working in radio and in prediction and spiritual-advice shows. In March 2016 the Facebook page “Sense Márcia” appeared, gathering videos and clips from her shows that highlighted the comic side of her predictions. The page gained wide popularity that June and, by January 2017, had already passed 136,000 likes, spreading to Twitter as well.
