Where does the “Silvio Takes a Dunk” meme come from?
In August 1992 (sources disagree on the exact day, the 8th or the 16th), during his show on SBT, Silvio Santos was testing the platform of a game meant for contestants, climbing a ladder to sit on the equipment. According to stage assistant Liminha, who revealed this years later in an interview, it was he who pulled the lever that dropped the host into the water tank, without Silvio expecting it at that moment. The fall was not a prank planned by Silvio, but he landed fine and laughed about the situation on the spot. The scene, marked by the "tchibum" splash sound, began circulating online again decades later and became a classic shared whenever someone recalls the host's best moments.
