In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Golden Freddy (Byilhan)” is an epic card of the Permanent Edition French Twitch Memes Season 1, number 77 of the collection, and the 20th best-known meme of its 78 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Golden Freddy (Byilhan)” meme mean?
Golden Freddy is the most mysterious animatronic in Five Nights at Freddy’s, a horror game about surviving mechanical mascots. His sudden appearances are a series staple. Shouting his name on stream signals that something unexpected just popped up on screen, that a jump scare is coming, or that a scene is going off the rails. The meme expresses surprise mixed with panic, with a dose of self-mockery from both streamer and chat. It also gets used outside the game to comment on any sudden appearance.
Where does the “Golden Freddy (Byilhan)” meme come from?
The meme was born on the livestream of Byilhan, a French streamer and creator who has devoted many videos to the Five Nights at Freddy’s universe: playthroughs of the fourth game, a FNAF mod inside Hello Neighbor, or a real-life night to survive with other creators. The card describes a live moment in which Golden Freddy’s name is shouted as a question just as surprise takes over the room. A compilation video titled “Average French Twitch Stream” features a similar scene tagged with the series’ hashtags, a sign that this kind of moment travels beyond the original channel. The meme spreads through clips, edits and chat messages.
